The Xfinity Series will join the Cup Series and the Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. Joe Gibbs Racing and Richard Childress Racing have won six of the seven races this year (four for JGR and two for Austin Hill from RCR). Will this trend continue this week at Texas, or will another team step up and beat the JGR and the RCR cars to the checkered-flag? We will find out Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING AT TEXAS
The Xfinity Series had their normal schedule this week. The teams had a 20-minute practice session to shake down their cars for Saturday’s race. The trend at Texas is for the race to have some long green-flag runs. This means we will need to focus our picks on the drivers who were fast on the long runs in practice. Track position is also important. So the drivers who qualify up front and have good long-run speed in their cars should be the drivers who compete for the win Saturday afternoon.
Here are the speeds from Friday’s practice at Texas…

DRAFTKINGS POINTS AT TEXAS
The cream typically raises to the top in the Xfinity Series races on the 1.5-mile tracks. The teams that can get the best down-force balance in their cars will be the teams that run up front Saturday. We can learn a lot by looking at which drivers had speed on the 1.5-mile track in Las Vegas last month and combining that data with the results from the last two races at Texas Motor Speedway.
Here are the stats from the race at Las Vegas last month and the last two races at Texas Motor Speedway sorted by DraftKings Points…

STRATEGY FOR TEXAS
The Xfinity Series race at Texas is scheduled for 200 laps (300 miles). That means there are 50 points available for leading laps and 90 points available for fastest laps (140 dominator points). The trend in the two races at Texas is for one driver to lead 110 laps and score 60 fastest laps (54.5 dominator points). Another driver leads 60 laps and scores 30 fastest laps (28.5 dominator points). We are going to need these two dominators in our lineup and the 83 dominator points that they are projected to score Saturday afternoon. The best strategy is to pay up for the drivers you think will lead the most laps and pair them with some drivers who can score place differential points.
The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Chandler Smith, Cole Custer, Justin Allgaier and Jesse Love
The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include Sheldon Creed, Austin Hill, Corey Heim, Matt Dibenedetto, Shane Van Gisbergen, Jeb Burton and Parker Retzlaff
