The Truck Series will join the Xfinity Series and the Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. The Truck Series had a pretty good race on a 1.5-mile track in Las Vegas last month. The race this week should be pretty good too. Kyle Busch is back in the field, so it will be fun to see if any of the Truck Series regulars can prevent Busch from winning his 66th career Truck Series race. PRACTICE / QUALIFYING
The Truckers were only allowed 20-minutes of track time to shake down their trucks for Friday’s race. The truck races have a habit of turning into demolition derby, but the drivers tend to race cleaner on the 1.5-mile tracks. That means we will likely have more long runs Friday night then we typically have on the short track races. We can learn a bit by looking at the single-lap speed from practice, but the drivers who were fast on the long runs are the truckers we will want in our lineups tonight. DFS STRATEGY FOR TEXAS
There are 167 laps in the race at Texas (250.5 miles). That means there are 41.75 points available for leading laps and 75.15 points available for fastest laps (116.9 dominator points). The trend in the last three races at Texas is for one driver to lead 120 laps and score 60 fastest laps (57 dominator points). Another driver leads 36 laps and scores 28 fastest laps (21.6 dominator points). We are going to need these 78 dominator points in our lineup in order to win our contests tonight. That means we will have to pay up for the drivers we think will lead the most laps, even if it is Kyle Busch.
