The MENCS will compete at Chicagoland Speedway this week in the Overton’s 400. After a week off and a trip to the west coast, it will be back to intermediate track racing for the MENCS. The race can be seen Sunday evening at 2 pm ET on NBC Sports Network.
Each week I use different stats in my model to create the best rankings possible to give you an edge on the completion. This week I used the driver’s performance on the 1.5-mile tracks this season, driver rating at Chicago, average finishing position at Chicago, results from the last 6 races this season and driver rating for the season to determine my rankings.
My early week pick for the pole is Kyle Busch. He has the best average starting position on the 1.5-mile tracks this season (5.2) and he has won two poles (Atlanta and Charlotte). Busch has also won the pole for 3 of the last 4 races at Chicagoland Speedway. The No. 18 car should have a great chance to post the fastest speed in qualifying Saturday.
Here are the early week driver rankings for Chicago…
