Fantasy Golf Picks for RBC Heritage

Facebooktwitter

The first major is in the books and you would think that most of the stars on the PGA Tour were ready to take the week off following the Masters. That is not the case. The PGA Tour heads to Hilton Head, South Carolina this week to play the RBC Heritage. This is another “signature event.” That means the there will be $20M in prize money up for grabs and 41 of the top-50 players in the World Golf Rankings will be teeing it up Thursday. It should be a fun week to play a DFS contest, but watch the entry list because there could be some withdrawals this week following the Masters.

COURSE BREAKDOWN

Harbour Town Golf Links is short for the tour professionals. The course plays 7,213-yards; par 71, with only three par 5’s which are reachable in two shots for every golfer in the field. What make this course difficult are the trees which line the fairways and the smallest greens on tour. The golfers will have to be accurate off the tee to setup easier approaches to the pins. Accuracy, Accuracy, Accuracy with the irons is what we are looking for this week.

RBC HERITAGE STRATEGY

The RBC Heritage is a non-cut event. All golfers will play all four rounds, so we do not need to worry about playing it safe and getting 6/6 golfers through the cut. The RBC Heritage is a signature event so that means the cheapest golfers are pretty good or they would not be here. I will be building a lot of “stars and scrubs” lineups for my Tournament Contests this week, but I like a “balanced lineup” for the Cash Contests.

What should we do with Scottie Scheffler this week? His price came down $500 and this is a not cut event. He is still going to need to win in order to be in the winning lineup. His return to form at the Masters shows that he is clearly the favorite this week, but he has a lot of talented golfers chasing him. I am not going to tell you to fade Scheffler, but the lineups you can build without him are really strong. I plan to fade Scheffler again, but I am giving you the option to make your own decision. I posted a Multi-Entry Lineup with Scheffler and another one without him. You can pick which one you like, or try your luck with both of them this week.

DRAFTKINGS CASH CONTEST

MATTHEW FITZPATRICK ($10,000): Selecting the top golfer for my Cash Contest lineup was not easy. I really wanted to start with Xander Schaufflele, but I could not make his price work. I also considered Cameron Young (playing the best golf on the PGA Tour) and Russell Henley (great course fit). I decided to go with Fitzpatrick. He checks the boxes for recent form, course history and he ranks No. 3 in the Key Stats.

PATRICK CANTLAY ($9,200): Is Cantlay going to win this week? Probably not. Will he finish in the top-five? Probably so. Cantlay has the best course history in the field. He finished 5 of his last 7 trips to Harbour Town in the top-three. Cantlay finished 7th at the Valspar and 12th last week at the Masters. His form and course history make Cantlay the perfect golfer for your Cash Contest lineup.

JUSTIN THOMAS ($8,300): Thomas won this tournament last year and he finished 5th in 2024. He is a horse for the course. His recent form is nothing to brag about, but JT has four rounds to figure it out. I will rely on his course history and use JT in the middle of my Cash Contest lineup this week.

JACOB BRIDGEMAN ($8,100): Can the recent form of Bridgeman lead him to a top-10 finish this week? I think it can. Bridgeman has only played the RBC Heritage once. He finished 61st last year. His form is much better in 2026. Bridgeman has finished every tournament this year, except the Masters, inside the top-20. It was his first time playing the Masters, so I will give him a pass on that tournament. Bridgeman has had a lot of success on courses he has very little course history. I expect that trend to continue at Harbour Town Golf Links.

DANIEL BERGER ($7,300): I thought about playing Sudarshan Yellamaraju in this lineup, but course history means a lot at Harbour Town Golf Links. I will save him for my Tournament Contest lineups and pivot to Berger. He missed the cut last week at the Masters, but that gave him some extra time to prepare for this Signature Event. Berger finished 3rd, 21st, 13th and 3rd in his last four trips to Harbour Town Golf Links. He should have a good chance to finish inside the top-15 Sunday.

BRIAN HARMAN ($7,000): Harman is another course horse. He finished 3rd, 12th, 7th, 35th and 13th in his last five trips to the RBC Heritage. His form is decent. Harman has made six consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour. He should be excited to tee it up at one of his best course. Harman is going to be a popular pick, so he shouldn’t hurt us much if he finishes outside the top-25.

DRAFTKINGS TOURNAMENT CONTEST

CAMERON YOUNG ($9,800): I always check out the Fantasy Golf Podcasts and read as many articles as possible to get an Idea of what the industry is thinking. I have heard too many people talking about fading Young this week because of the mental strain the Masters may have taken out of him. To the people who are fading Young I say, “Go ahead, Make my day.” Young is playing the best golf on the PGA Tour. He finished 3rd here in 2022, so he knows how to get around this course. Young is playing too well right now to fade.

RUSSELL HENLEY ($9,600): The safer way to play this lineup is to use the extra $400 to get Matthew Fitzpatrick and Cameron Young at the top. I will leave the money on the table to try and be a bit more contrarian. Henley is built for Harbour Town Golf Links. He is accurate off-the-tee, accurate into the greens and he putts well enough to score on this course. Henley has a good chance to finish in the top-10 Sunday.

JAKE KNAPP ($9,100): You can play it safe and use the extra $400 for Ludvid Aberg or you can leave the salary on the table and take a chance with Knapp. I like to be contrarian, so I will use Knapp this week. His form is outstanding, but he has very little course history. I am hoping his lack of course history scares people away from him. Knapp is playing too well right now to fade.

J.T. POSTON ($7,200): I have heard a lot of talk about Daniel Berger, Alex Noren and Brian Harman this week, but few people have been talking about playing Poston. His course history is nearly as good as those other golfers. Poston has five finishes in the top-11 in his last seven trips to Harbour Town Golf Links. I will take a chance with Poston this week at the RBC Heritage.

SUDARSHAN YELLAMARAJU ($7,200): Yellamaraju is another golfer with no course history. He has a lot a terrific form though. This rookie has finished 14th (Valera), 6th (Houston), 5th (THE PLAYERS) and 17th (Cognizant) over the last two months. He did not have any course history in those tournaments, so I am not worried about Yellamaraju figuring out Harbour Town Golf Links. He is going to be a bit more popular than I would like, but I think Yellamaraju is the best play at the bottom at the $7K price range.

SUNGJAE IM ($6,700): Come on Sungjae, find me some form this week…. He has enough course history to finish in the top-10. Sungjae finished 11th, 12th, 7th, 21st and 13th in his last five trips to Harbour Town Golf Links. That is outstanding for $6,700. His form is what is keeping his price down. Sungjae just finished 4th at the Valspar, so he does have the upside to finish near the top of the leaderboard Sunday.
