NASCAR Driver Rankings for Talladega

The Cup Series will travel to Talladega this weekend for another Superspeedway race. The Cup Series started the season with back-to-back Superspeedway races at Daytona and Atlanta. Both of those races had pretty exciting finishes. I expect the same this week at Talladega. The GEICO 500 can be seen Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.

The 2024 season has been dominated by Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Race. The drivers from those two teams have won eight of the nine races this year. That includes William Byron’s win in the Daytona 500. The only driver who was able to find Victory Lane in a non-Hendrick Motorsports and non-Joe Gibbs Racing car was Daniel Suarez at Atlanta. Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Chase Elliott and William Byron should run well again this week, but the Fords have dominated the Superspeedway races in the Gen-7 car. This will be a good race to take a break from the Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing drivers and take a chance with the Fords at Talladega.

This race is impossible to predict. I am not trying to predict the finishing order with the driver rankings listed below. I entered the stats from the four races at Talladega in the Gen-7 car, the two races at Talladega last year and the two Superspeedway races this year (Daytona and Atlanta) to figure out the best drivers for your lineups.
