The Cup Series has reached the middle race in the Round of Eight. This is race number 34 on the schedule and that means we have used 33 drivers in the One & Done contests this year. So, how are your One & Done picks performing? I saved Alex Bowman for his best track (Las Vegas). He had a flat tire and hit the wall. Hopefully we can have better luck Sunday.
ONE & DONE CONTESTS

This pick is for games where you can only use a driver once throughout the season.
AUSTIN DILLON will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once throughout the season. Homestead is the best track for Dillon and it is not even close. He has finished every race he has started as a full-time driver in the Cup Series in the top-14 at Homestead. His average finishing position in his last eight races at Homestead is 9.8. Dillon finished fourth at Homestead last year. I will take a chance with the No. 3 car Sunday.
* You can use John H. Nemechek if you already used Austin Dillon
ONE & DONE (REGULAR SEASON/PLAYOFF GAMES)

The picks for the Regular Season / Playoff Games are rest this week. Hopefully I was able to navigate your picks so that you were able to make the playoffs. I know some people play in games that reset their allocations for the playoffs (meaning you can use any driver you want) and others continue in the playoffs, but you still cannot use the drivers you used in the regular season. I will provide picks for both styles of games.
DENNY HAMLIN will be my pick in games that reset for the playoffs. Hamlin is no stranger to Victory Lane at Homestead. He has three wins in Southern Florida, with his last trip to Victory Lane in 2020. Hamlin cooled off a bit after his hot start to the playoffs, but he should bounce back at Homestead. Hamlin ranks No. four in average speed on the high tire-wear tracks in the Gen-7 car. Hamlin will have a good chance to finish in the top-five Sunday, with the upside to win the race.
JOHN H. NEMECHEK will be my pick in games that do not reset for the playoffs. I was running low with picks for this type of games and I really needed a driver like Nemechek to show up. I have to use Nemechek Sunday so that I do not have to use Harrison Burton, J.J. Yeley, Josh Bilicki or B.J. McLeod at Phoenix.
ONE & DONE (USE A DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE)

I play in a game where I can use a driver three times throughout the season. I know some of you have told me you can use your drivers twice. We will only need 18 drivers in these games, so we do not need to dig too deep with our picks. Here is my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once….
TY GIBBS will be my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once. Gibbs has been really good at posting fast last in practice, qualifying up front and then running in the top-10 in the race. His problem has been finishing the races. Most of his poor finishes are bad luck. The No. 54 car has a lot of speed this weekend, so I will take a chance with Gibbs Sunday.
Good luck Sunday!
