NASCAR One & Done Picks for Charlotte Roval

Facebooktwitter

The Cup Series will have a home race again this week when they compete at the Charlotte Roval. This will be the sixth road course race of the season and the last race in the Round of 12. The 2022 season has been absolutely wild. We have seen a lot of chaos on the Charlotte Roval before (remember Jimmie Johnson spinning out Martin Truex Jr. in the final turn of the inaugural race at the track?). It will likely be crazy in Charlotte Sunday, but fun to watch. The Bank of America Roval 400 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.

There are five races left in the 2022 Cup Series season. The drivers I have left include: Alex Bowman, Harrison Burton, Todd Gilliland, Justin Haley, Ty Dillon and all of the back markers.

The One & Done picks struck gold again with Landon Cassill at Talladega. My goal every week is to have my One & Done pick finish in the top-10, but it is hard to be upset with an 11th-place finish from Cassill. I am running low on good drivers, so I am going to need some more luck Sunday in Charlotte.

Here is my One & Done pick for the race at Charlotte Roval…

ONE & DONE PICK FOR CHARLOTTE:  JUSTIN HALEY will be my pick for One & Done games where you can only use a driver once during the season. Can we get lucky and get a top-10 finish from Haley Sunday? Haley is a pretty good road course driver. He finished 15th at COTA, 12th at Sonoma, 19th at the Indy Road Course and 18th at Watkins Glen. He will have AJ Allmendinger as a teammate to compare notes with this weekend and that always helps. I am not sure Haley can finish in the top-10, but I will take a top-15 finish from the No. 31 car.

ONE & DONE PICK FOR CHARLOTTE:  AJ ALLMENDINGER will be my pick in the One & Done games where you can use a driver more than once. I am quickly running out of drivers to use in this game too. The choices I have left include: Tyler Reddick, Kurt Busch, Alex Bowman, Daniel Suarez, Bubba Wallace, Austin Dillon, Aric Almirola, Chris Buescher, Chase Briscoe, Erik Jones, AJ Allmendinger and all of the back markers. Allmendinger is a “boom or bust” driver on the road courses. There is no doubt that he has the talent to win any road course race. He has a problem getting his car to make it to the end of the race because he pushes it so hard on the road courses. Charlotte is not as tough on the car as the more technical road courses so I will take a chance with Allmendinger Sunday.

ONE & DONE PICK FOR CHARLOTTE:  TYLER REDDICK will be my pick in the One & Done games where allocations reset for the playoffs. I am quickly running out of drivers to use in this game too. Reddick has been the best driver on the road courses this year. He won the races at Road America and the Indy Road Course. He also finished 5th at COTA and 7th at Watkins Glen. Reddick should have a great chance to finish in the top-five Sunday.

Good Luck Sunday!
