NASCAR One & Done Picks for Darlington

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR Cup Series will compete at Darlington Raceway Sunday. That means it will be “throwback weekend” for all three series. The cars will be wrapped to pay tribute to the legends of the past. It is a cool race and it should be fun to watch. The Goodyear 400 can be seen Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

Here is my One & Done pick for the Goodyear 400

ONE & DONE PICK FOR DARLINGTON: ERIK JONES will be my One & Done pick this week. This is nothing new though. Jones is always my One & Done pick at Darlington. This is by far his best track. He won the race at “The Track Too Tough to Tame” in 2019 and he has finished 6 of his 8 races at the track in the top-10. I know those races were in Joe Gibbs Toyota’s, but the Gen-7 car has evened the playing field. Jones finished 10th at Dover last week. His starts 11th Sunday and should have a good chance to bring his Richard Petty throwback car home in the top-10.

ONE & DONE PICK FOR DARLINGTON: MARTIN TRUEX JR. will be my pick for the games where you can use a driver more than once and in games that reset at the end of the regular season. Truex completely dominated this race last year. He led 248 of the 293 laps, won both Stages and went to Victory Lane. He came back in the playoffs and finished 4th (but should have won that race too). Truex looks fast again this week. He qualified 4th and has the track position to run up front and have a good chance to win Sunday.

Good Luck This Week!
