The NASCAR Cup Series will travel to No Limits Texas this week to compete at Texas Motor Speedway. This will make it back-to-back races on a 1.5-mile track, but Texas is different from Kentucky. The track this week is a quad-oval with more banking. It is similar to Charlotte Motor Speedway. It should be another exciting finish in the Cup Series. The O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 can be seen Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
Last Race: I am done with Kyle Busch. He started on the pole at one of his best tracks and he cannot even finish in the top 20? I know he said he needs practice to dial in his car but is Adam Stevens that bad of a crew chief that he cannot give Busch a half-way decent car to start the race? I am done using Busch in Fantasy NASCAR games until he can consistently finish in the top 10.
Here are my picks for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 …

My One & Done Pick for Texas: Jimmie Johnson
I was part of a teleconference during Speedweeks before the 2020 Daytona 500 I was able to ask many of the drivers’ questions and the one question I made sure I asked was… “If you played Fantasy NASCAR and you could only use yourself at what track, which track would it be?” Jimmie Johnson responded, “Probably Texas. We had our best races at that track last year and I think we could have won both races.” Johnson led 60 laps in the spring race at Texas and 40 laps in the fall. He did have a fast car in both races. I will take him at his word and use Johnson in my One & Done games this week.
I need a bounce back race after the disaster with Kyle Busch at Kentucky. The safest pick in the game is Ryan Blaney. He has been awesome on the 1.5-mile tracks this season. Blaney finished 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 3rd and 6th in the last five races on the 1.5-mile tracks. I will use Blaney in the games where I am allowed to use a driver more than once.
Good luck this week!
