NASCAR One & Done Picks for Charlotte Roval

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR Cup Series will compete at the Charlotte Roval Sunday. It is hard to believe that this will be the fourth season competing on this track. It seems like just yesterday that NASCAR was talking about changing the 1.5-mile track to the Roval. The three races have produced the same results. Chase Elliott won the last two races at this track and he is the favorite to win again Sunday. The drivers should be extra aggressive this week since this is the last race in the Round of 12. It will be fun to see who can win the seventh road course race in 2021. The Bank of America Roval 400 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.

Just Haley was my pick for Talladega. That race is tough to predict but Haley had a lot of success at that track and he was in a car prepared by Richard Childress Racing. Haley started 38th and he spent some time running in the top 10. Haley finished 20th when the rain ended the race. I think it could have been much better if they would have been able to complete the race.

My One & Done Pick for Charlotte Roval: Cole Custer

There have been 31 races so far this year and that means we have used 31 drivers in our One & Done contests. It is getting tougher to find good drivers for our lineups. The drivers I have available in the One & Done game include Ryan Blaney, Cole Custer, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Bubba Wallace (should have used him at Talladega) and Anthony Alfredo. Blaney would be the best pick but I need to save him for one of the 1.5-mile tracks.

Cole Custer will be my One & Done pick Sunday. I did not plan to have Custer in this spot but he is my best choice not named Ryan Blaney. Custer has had some success at the Charlotte Roval. He finished 7th and 8th in his two Xfinity Series races at the track. Custer started 28th and finished 9th in his Cup Series car last year at the Charlotte Roval. I will take my chances with the No. 41 car and hope Custer can continue his top-10 streak at this track.

Christopher Bell will be my pick in games where you can use a driver twice. Bell has been pretty good on the Road Courses this season. He won the Daytona Road Course race, finished 2nd at Road America and he finished 7th at Watkins Glen. Joe Gibbs Racing brings fast cars to the road course tracks, so I will take my chances with Bell Sunday.

* AJ Allmendinger should be your pick if you have not used him yet this season.

Good luck this week!
